Home textile buying turns on a small number of measurable variables. In bed linen, thread count from 120 to 800 TC and fabric weight from 120 to 200 GSM together determine hand feel, opacity and service life. In bath linen, GSM is the single most useful indicator: 350 to 450 GSM suits everyday and high-turnover hospitality use, while 500 to 700 GSM gives the density and absorbency expected in premium retail and spa programmes.
