Our pillow covers run 120 to 600 thread count at fabric weights of 100 to 150 GSM. Pillow covers are laundered more frequently than any other item in a bedding set -- in hospitality and healthcare, daily -- so construction quality at the seams and closure is what determines service life. Fabric weight of 100 to 150 GSM is deliberately lighter than sheeting, since the cover needs to drape against the pillow rather than hold structure.
Fabric choice affects more than hand feel. Cotton is the most breathable and the most widely specified. Satin weave produces a smoother surface with less friction against hair and skin, which is why it is increasingly requested in premium retail programmes. Polyester blends give the best wash durability and fastest drying, which matters where turnaround time is the constraint.
