Bath towels

Ashelby International manufactures and supplies bath towels in cotton and bamboo blends for retail, hospitality and spa programmes, in sizes of 24x48, 27x54 and 30x60 inches.

Our towels run 350 to 700 GSM. In bath linen, GSM is the single most useful specification -- more informative than any descriptive grade. At 350 to 450 GSM a towel is lighter, dries faster and launders more economically, which suits high-turnover hospitality, gym and everyday household use. At 500 to 600 GSM the towel is noticeably denser and more absorbent, the mainstream premium retail and hotel specification. At 600 to 700 GSM it becomes a luxury or spa weight: maximum absorbency and a substantial hand, at the cost of longer drying time and higher laundering cost.

Fibre choice modifies this. Combed cotton produces longer, more uniform pile with better durability than carded. Bamboo blends give a softer surface and finer denier at equivalent weight, favoured in spa and baby programmes. Zero-twist constructions maximise softness and absorbency but are less durable under industrial laundering, so they suit retail rather than hospitality.
