Bed sheets

Ashelby International manufactures and supplies bed sheets for retail, hospitality and institutional buyers, in cotton, poly-cotton and blended constructions across single, double, queen and king sizes.

Our sheeting runs 120 to 800 thread count at fabric weights of 120 to 200 GSM. Thread count is the most quoted figure in bed linen and the most frequently misread. Up to around 400 TC it correlates reasonably with fineness and smoothness. Beyond that, higher figures are often achieved by counting plied yarns individually, so a genuine 300 TC single-ply sheet can outperform a nominal 800 TC one. Fabric weight in GSM is the more reliable indicator of substance and durability, which is why we publish both.

Specification should follow the channel. Hospitality and healthcare programmes face industrial laundering several times a week, so poly-cotton blends around 150 to 180 GSM in the 180 to 250 TC range typically deliver the best service life and return to shape without pressing. Retail programmes can justify higher cotton content and finer counts, where hand feel at point of sale drives the purchase.
